Jinja Passport Office Launched

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Internal Affairs Lt Gen Joseph B. Musanyufu on Friday February 23rd launched the Passport Center at the Jinja Regional Immigration Office. The Passport Office is now a fully-fledged center where applicants can have their interviews, data captured and collect their passports. It joins Kampala HQ, Mbale, Mbarara and Gulu as the other complete passport centers in the country

This decentralization of passport services aims to bring services closer to Ugandans. The Office is located at Busoga Square Administration Block. Applicants around Jinja and surrounding areas  do not need to travel to Kampala, Mbarara, Gulu or Mbale, as the services are the same if not better. The office is fully, efficiently, and professionally staffed. The public is urged not to fall prey to middlemen.

Applying for a passport is very simple; all one needs to do is get their smartphone or computer with an internet connection and log onto www.passports.go.ug. Follow the prompts, pay, and schedule an appointment on the website.
